I have lived in this room between 15 and 23 years old. Actually I lived in the house for a year and a half all by myself. I was between 15 and 16 and a half, and I was living alone in the house. My parents had a business in Gonfreville (France) and I would go to high school in Montivilliers, so I was living alone.

My older sister who had lived in this room before had painted everything white, and put some blue carpet, really thick, and that is still there. And there was only low pieces of furniture, small pieces whose legs had been removed to fit under the slanted roof. There was a bed, a dresser and that was all. I didn’t decorate at all.

There was a lot of stuffed animals, because I always loved them. There was a bunch of small stuffed animals everywhere.

I have been nicknamed Tweety since a very young age, and when I was 12 or 13, people would always buy me things with the tweety bird on them. So I had a lot of those.

Because my parents had a tobacco business, my mother would provide me cigarettes behind my father’s back, and I remember I would open the window and smoke out the window facing the railway because there are trains passing in front of that window.

There never was a lot of joy in this room actually. I was a very insecure person, I was feeling really down during my teenage years, this was not a happy time in my life.

"My mother would provide me cigarettes behind my father’s back."
